Additional Order Information

The Instructions/Comments section is used to provide supplemental information about an order to the sponsor.

• Urine Volume and Hours of Collection are self-explanatory.  These two fields become disabled when creating a recurring order.  
 
 

• Lab Instructions are used to send additional information to a lab about test specimens or the patient.
 
 

• Report Comments appear printed on the top portion of a report when it is sent to your office. Usually, this is information your office requires to be included with the report. A typical report comment might be a note about a medication the patient is currently taking.

Keep in mind that not all sponsors use Lab Instructions and/or Report Comments.



• Results Distribution is used to indicate the phone and fax numbers the sponsor should use to notify the physician's office or practice as soon as the test results are available. This is mostly used for critical results.

Validating the Order

Once you finish entering test and diagnosis codes you are ready to validate the order.  Click the Validate Order button or use the short cut key "Alt >" to validate and save your order.  If all the data has been properly entered, a completed printable order appears on the following screen.

Please note that validating a Recurring Order, simply stores the order information, it does not, activate the order.  For information on activating recurring orders see “To Activate a Recurring Order” .
