In order to maintain optimum system performance, Clinician periodically archives and deletes documents, clinical reports, non-resulted orders and ancient order results based on expiration date.
By default, most regular reports are maintained for a minimum of 120 days. Discrete results (the actual result values such as the ones used in cumulative reporting) are kept for longer periods of time.
The clinical report headers are kept for 60 days longer than the report contents. Report headers are the rows that appear on the reports Inbox as shown in the following illustration.
Sponsors and facilities can specify by Report Type, the number of days reports should be active.
If you try to open or view a report that has already been archived, a message will appear on the screen as shown in the next illustration:
If this happens, you will need to contact the hospital or lab indicated on the message to obtain a copy of the report.
The report’s History will show on what dates the report was created and archived.
When a report is forwarded, Clinician creates a new report header for the report. This means the expiration dates for the report header and the report contents are extended, based on the number of days configured by the sponsor.
