After selecting Order Type and Bill Type, complete all the required fields. This will determine what fields are required to complete the first order screen.
If the Bill Type is set to Patient you must provide Guarantor Information.
If the Bill Type is set to Third Party you must provide at least Primary Insurance Information.
If you enter the Zip Code and press Enter, the City and State fields are completed for you. If there are multiple cities in the zip code you will have a list of cities to choose from.
ID is the patient's account number in your practice or practice management system.
The following fields apply to recurring orders: Lab Reference, Hospital ID, Location, Room# and Shift.
The Order Information portion includes the Lab name, Ordering Physician, and Client/Facility. The Client/Facility drop-down contains a list of Client/Facility names, descriptions, and Client IDs.
The Ordering Physician is the physician ordering the lab work. Select a physician from the drop-down list. If the Ordering Physician has only one facility on file, the Client/Facility field will be populated automatically. If more than one facility is on file, the Client/Facility field will remain blank and must be populated from the drop-down list.
The Client/Facility may be either the practice name or a physician's name. Each line that identifies a particular client will also have a Client ID. The Client ID is a unique code assigned by a sponsor, to identify a provider (Physician or Facility). Every Facility may have a default Client ID. Physicians who do not have a Client ID assigned to them by the sponsor are assigned the default Client ID of the Facility that they are associated with.
After the Client Facility is populated click Next or use the shortcut Alt + > to move to the next screen.
Prepaid Amount is used by some labs to specify any amount pre-paid by the patient. This amount is printed on the order.
STAT is used by some labs. Checking this field indicates that the ordering physician wants STAT processing of this order. The definition of STAT is determined by the performing lab.
