Drug Utilization Review warnings are designed to prevent potential adverse reactions caused by therapeutic duplication, drug interactions, incorrect dosages, ingredient duplication, or contraindications for gender, age, pregnancy, or disease.
When a user generates a drug prescription, Clinician displays DUR Warnings if any of these conditions is present. The user can choose to bypass the warning(s) and proceed with issuing the prescription or modify/cancel the prescription.
The DUR Preferences screen allows users to configure the display of DUR Warnings for a given location and for the caregiver(s) in that location.
The default Facility is the user’s current location. Below the facility are listed all the caregivers associated with it.
The Caregiver settings take precedence over the Facility settings.
