A Drug Utilization Review check occurs anytime a drug is selected. DUR warnings help ensure that medications are safely dispensed.
This feature is designed to alert the user, when issuing a prescription, of potential adverse reactions caused by any of the following conditions:
Therapeutic duplication
Drug interactions
Incorrect dosages
Ingredient duplication, or
Contraindications for gender, age, pregnancy, or disease.
The DUR Warning icons only display based on the results of the check.
The View button is visible and enabled if there are warnings to display. If there are no warnings, the View button is disabled.
Clicking the View button displays the DUR Summary as a pop up screen.
Clicking the Preferences button displays the DUR Preferences screen.
