File Delivery is a utility that allows results from labs and hospitals to be downloaded into an Electronic Medical Record or Practice Management System as text files. These files can then be manipulated by the physician’s office and pasted into electronic medical records. File Delivery can run with or without Clinician’s user interface. When used with Clinician, results data can be converted into web viewable output in the form of HTML or PDF files.
The File Delivery client/server application automates the process of downloading reports from Clinician to a user’s desktop.
This guide describes how to set up and use the File Delivery application to automate the process of downloading reports into a desktop PC.
File Delivery launches on startup without user intervention and it is automatically upgraded via ESD. Normally, there is no need to log into it since the user name and password are initially stored on the client system.
Since many reports are delivered after hours, ideally, File Delivery should be allowed to run continuously on an unattended workstation or even a server. Once File Delivery is properly set up and running it can continue to run uninterrupted until it’s time to make a change.
The File Delivery Login screen appears if the stored user name and password fail to successfully log in, or if they are not found in the system registry.
If this screen appears, enter your assigned File Delivery user name and password.
If there is an update available, it is automatically downloaded and executed without any user intervention, and the updated File Delivery restarts automatically.
If this is the first time the account is being used, then the Change Password screen appears.
The Change Password screen appears:
If the login account requires a password change. This usually happens when a new account is used for the first time. Additionally, accounts may be set to have passwords expire periodically.
If users choose to change their password from the Settings screen.
If the Change Password screen appears, enter the Old Password.
Enter a New Password and confirm the New Password.
Click OK to continue.
